Firstly a big big thank you to everyone who has promoted my work over the last few days. I really appreciate the amount of work put in and am really happy with the results. I think that this is a really great start for everyone to take ideas from and build on.

Since Sunday night I have sold 19 cards through Coriandr (this is including multi-packs) so from my point of view it is a massive success  Smiley

I have been quite anal and logged the number of views every morning, so only read on if you are interested in the amount of clicks!

Some figures obviously drop when an item had been sold and relisted. I have no way of knowing what methods work best for promo, but know that when I twittered a new listing (Together -monkey card) last night it had 17 views within a few minutes. The individual items that have been twittered seemed to have fared better with views than the ones not twittered, again I have no idea how many people have viewed my shop and not clicked any further...

Wow, that's a great result! And it's good to see that the views increased from Monday onwards. So you reckon Twitter is the way to go then?

Great! Thanks for information Kevin. I'm glad you got so many sales.

The issue of which type of promotion works best is very hard to compare. Twittering may increase immediate views to a particular item, but links on various websites can increase long term views as it can help with search engine rankings such as Google, so it's kind of like comparing sausages with hosepipe. They both might be round, but they have very different uses. I think a combination of all types of promotion will increase exposure all around.

I have had favourable comments about your cards from people I told about you via email and on Facebook. They may not have purchased straight away but they are at least now aware of your shop and that they like goods within it. So when they do need cards in the future there is some chance that they will purchase some from you.

Let's hope that this works well for everyone on board. I, as someone that sells higher priced goods, probably won't gain as many sales as you did Kevin, but I'll be happy just to know a whole lot more people know my shop even exists here on Coriandr. Upping the profile of my shop here is my goal and any sales will be a great bonus Smiley

Wow, that's really good Kevin. I agree with PPC, I have been thinking that maybe adding a few lower priced items to my shop for when I am the VIP might aid sales. I think people will fav or make a note of higher priced goods and come back when they want to buy them though; that is what seems to happen for me after I have been to a show; I expect immediate sales but its generally a few weeks later that I get more sales.

haha sausages and hosepipe! You're absolutely right  Cheesy

Twitter was good for getting immediate views, but it's all about the long term awareness and getting customers into Coriandr which will benefit us all, so any promo work is beneficial. Right I'm off to blog about Blue Fish Handmade! Onwards and upwards!

That's fantastic news Kev! I've just put up a small blog post about the whole Coriandr Express promotion that links to this thread, so I've fixed your table up; hope you don't mind!  Grin
