RECYCLED Sari Silk Yarn from Nepal
£11.00
This beautiful organic yarn is handspun from recycled sari silk. It measures approximately 150 meters in length.
A kaleidescope of soft and durable colours and textures; this
bright warm tones with dazzling blues and greens interspersed.
This yarn is made by a Fair Trade collective in Kathmandu, Nepal which strives to uplift the economic conditions of women through the practice of indigenous handicrafts. Village women collect salvage silk from sari manufacturers, then spin it by hand according to time-honoured methods. The sale of this yarn will contribute to their financial independence and help to preserve Nepal's rich artistic heritage.
I can wind the yarn into balls from the original skeins, saving you time and trouble so you can get crafting right away!
