This fantastic headdress draws elements from many different ages, combining them in an eclectic burst of vivid and quirky colour and design.

The main piece, comprising the crown of the headdress, is the hand-stamped bronze top of an antique Ottoman warrior's helmet atop a red velvet fez-style hat. I've embellished it with intricate and colourful glass beadwork, some salvaged from a vintage Turkish wedding costume and some added by hand, and two antique mirrors graced with beaded trim add a flash of dazzle. A vintage Kuchi pendant hangs from the center and the hat is garlanded by jangly metal Kuchi trim. Shiny tassels of silver thread cascade down the front, and a hand-dyed orange silk veil floats down to the shoulders.

The hat measures approximately 25.5 inches in circumference, and its shape allows for it to rest comfortably on most any head.
