Description

Spun from premium alpaca blanket and 10% white mulberry silk, this double-plied yarn is a laceweight (UK 2-ply) border averaging 23 wpi, measures approximately 220 metres, and weighs 85g/3oz. The yarn has a sleek handle, and is a soft, warm white.

The singles were spun from hand-blended fibres and have been given a medium twist in a smooth worsted fashion, and then plied. The result is a balanced yarn, strong but still 'cosy', good for knitting, weaving and crochet. It will stand firm blocking and, once blocked, and will become soft, very drapey, and slightly haloed.

The yarn will felt with some encouragement, so please wash carefully unless felting is your intention. I would wash in cool water with mild soap or 'delicates' detergent. Do not wring or twist, just squeeze through and dry flat.

All of my skeins can be wound into a centre-pull ball at no extra charge. Also, whilst I try to capture the photo colours as accurately I can to my eye, there's always going to be a slight variation. If you have any queries about this yarn, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Prepared, dyed, blended, and spun in a smoke-free and pet-friendly home. The dog and cat have had no access to the fibres.
