Our goal in collecting personal information is to provide you with a safe, efficient, and personalised experience. We only collect personal information about you that we consider necessary for this purpose.
You can browse the Site without telling us who you are or revealing any personal information about yourself. Once you give us your personal information, you are not anonymous to us. If you choose to use our services, we may require you to provide contact and identity information, financial information and other personal information as indicated on the forms throughout the Site. Where possible, we indicate which fields are required and which fields are optional. You always have the option not to provide information by choosing not to use a particular service or feature.
Coriandr collects personal information when you register with Coriandr to use Coriandr services or to post content on Coriandr. When you register we ask for your email address and geographic location.
If you choose to buy or sell on the Site, we collect information about your buying and selling behaviour. We also collect other users' comments about you in our feedback area.
If you choose to post messages on our community boards, chat rooms or other message areas or leave feedback for other users, we will collect that information.
If you send us personal correspondence, such as emails or letters, or if other users or third parties send us correspondence about your activities or postings on the Site, we may collect such information into a file specific to you.
We automatically collect and process certain information based upon your use of the Site. We use this information to conduct internal research on our users' demographics, interests, and behaviour to better understand, serve and protect you and our community. This information may include the URL that you just came from (whether this URL is on the Site or not), which URL you next go to (whether this URL is on the Site or not), browser information, and your IP address.
You agree that we may use personally identifiable information about you to improve our marketing and promotional efforts, to analyze site usage, improve our content and product offerings, and customise the Site's content, layout, and services. These uses improve the Site and better tailor it to meet your needs.
As a matter of policy, Coriandr will never sell or rent your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes without your explicit consent. However, the following describes some of the ways that we may disclose your personally identifiable information.
(a) Advertisers. We aggregate (gather up data across all user accounts) personally identifiable information and disclose such information in a non-personally identifiable manner to advertisers and other third parties for other marketing and promotional purposes. However, in these situations, we do not disclose to these entities any information that could be used to identify you personally. Certain information, such as your name, email address, password and billing information are never disclosed to third party advertisers.
(b) Coriandr Community. Your Username is displayed throughout the Site and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities on the Site will be identifiable to your Username. Other people can see your feedback rating and associated comments, your postings on the Site, and so on. Therefore, if you associate your name with your Username, the people you have revealed your name to will be able to personally identify your Coriandr activities. Although our pages are coded with robot exclusion headers, individuals and corporations may illegally attempt to automatically collect your email address from the Site.
Coriandr may utilize other service providers such as credit card processors and may need to share user information with the service provider for the purpose of providing the service to the site. These service providers do not use the data provided for their own promotional purposes.
(d) Search Engines. For others finding you via the internet it is inevitable that we organise our website in a way so that search engines can generate information of our registered users when scanning our website. The following data is collected: user name, shop description, product titles and descriptions. If you wish your data to be deleted or if you cancel the contract we will delete your data immediately. As a general rule, your data in internet search engines is deleted within 60 days. We do not have any influence upon when your data is deleted and can therefore not be held liable for this.
(f) Legal Requests. Coriandr cooperates with law enforcement inquiries, as well as other third parties, to enforce laws and third party rights, such as intellectual property rights and laws relating to fraud. Therefore, in response to a verified request by law enforcement or other government officials such as a Section 29 (3) Data Protection Act 1998 form relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity, or other activity that may expose us or you to legal liability, we can (and you authorise us to) disclose personal information such as name, address, telephone number, email address, Username history, and purchasing and listing history about you as we, in our sole discretion, believe necessary or appropriate.
We will send you a welcome/confirmation email when you sign up for our services. Receipt of this email is required for using our services. We will send you strictly service-related announcements on rare occasions when it is necessary to do so. For instance, if our service is temporarily suspended for maintenance, we might send you an email.
You may not opt-out of these communications, which are not promotional in nature. If you do not wish to receive them, you have the option to deactivate your account by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org from the email address you signed up with.
