hello! my name is nutmeg.
i travel the world with a mad pipe-organist, our wee beautiful and savage daughter, and too many trunks full of glorious ephemera, scouting out the most delightful kitsch at home and abroad.
a lot of the things you find here are rescued from scrapyards or dusty old shelves and then reincarnated by me. i especially like to restore old wooden toys.
i try to preserve the unique qualia of a place and let you share a perfect moment in token form: a day drinking tea in a cozy shop nestled above the bazaar, the quiet expanse of city streets after everyone's gone home for the evening.
i love to let things fall apart so i can put them back together in novel ways. most inspiring? long train rides, displays of light and shadow, and all the peeling paint in the whole universe. i'm wild about French films and German philosophy.
a Serious Artist (whatever that may entail) when not acting as a purveyor of pop, some of my flinky conceptual bits may make an appearance here from time to time.
